A Foodbloggers Meme around the World

While I know there have been several memes around asking you to vote for your top choice of blogs, recipes, or whatever, I have a nagging sense of missing too much in the foodie blogosphere. It seems like every day a new lovely food blog pops up somewhere and life is too short to find or know or read’em all.

So I am asking you to join this meme to widen our angle of perception when it comes to foodblogs.

• Whole Wheat Date Bars – Culinary in the Desert
  Actually, I found this recipe, or more like the picture of it, at flickr. I love flickr, there are tons of food-related pix and many of the foodbloggers use it to share their photos. I am going to make this soon.

• Thai Clear Soup with Minced Pork – Lex Culinaria
  Asian simplicity at its best. I love Thai food, and this looks (and sounds) very tasty.

• Mango Macadamia Crunch Muffins – The Scent of Green Bananas
  Muffins baked in a paper coffee cup – absolutely stunning look and combining two of my favorite ingredients, how could I resist?

Fool for Food. It is somewhat funny that Claudia from Fool for Food and I chose names for our blogs which are sort of neighbors, too, a fool and a freak for food… she lives about 2 km from here, and we haven’t met yet. I’ll have to make a call for a bloggers’ cook-in

3. A foodblog located far from you

There are, of course, many foodblogs far from here (Hamburg, Germany), the whole North American continent is full of food bloggers. so, may I name three instead?

• Tham Jiak – a fellow cooking enthusiast in Malaysia, I love to read about his/her Asian food experiences.

• Obachan’s Kitchen in Japan – I’m into Japanese food big time
• The Kitchen Journal of a Philippine living in Angola. Quite an interesting combination,
  

4. A foodblog (or several) you have discovered recently (where did you find it?)

• Foodbeam in Southern France – and I have no idea how I got there
  Looking at the recent entries, I probably saw the incredible Macaron Plénitude at Flickr.

• Cupcake Bakeshop – definitely found at Flickr in a cupcake group with the most gorgeous cupcakes you’ve ever seen: http://www.flickr.com/groups/cupcakestakethecake/
• The Wednesday Chef
  I had seen this blog some time ago but didn’t bookmark it – found it again at Küchenlatein. The Wednesday chef regularly tries recipes from the Wednesday food sections of (Americas) online newspapers. Very funny and enlightening.
